WI: A fun craft afternoon was enjoyed on Friday June 30 when Pat Jones gave a demonstrat­ion on willow work. She then helped the members to make a simple shape decorated with ribbons and beads. Mrs Jones welcomed Sioned Williams from St David’s hospice who gave a talk on her work and future developmen­t of the hospice. Mrs J Griffith gave the vote of thanks. The meeting concluded with final arrangemen­ts for the Mystery trip .The next meeting will be on Tuesday September 5.

CLWB Y FELIN: The next meeting of Clwb y Felin will be held on Thursday, July 13, at 2pm in y Ganolfan Pentrefeli­n. There will be no visiting speaker on this occasion. Indoor games will be arranged, suitable for those less active than they would like to be. Kurling is very popular, much like the game played on ice, only our plastic ‘stones’ have castors under them and roll across our parquet floor. There will be no meeting in August; the Club hope to see you again on Thursday, September 14, when Carol Reeve will present her talk “Soap”, some of her experience­s acting as an extra and sometimes with a speaking part in television programmes. There will be no Fair in y Ganolfan Pentrefeli­n on August Bank Holiday this year, the Club hope to arrange one just before Christmas, when you will be able to purchase gifts for the forthcomin­g festivitie­s.
