“It seemed all competitors enjoyed the day and everyone left with muddy kit and big smiles on their faces. Gwynedd definitely topped the podium in Llanrwst, with cyclists eager to continue training and joining local clubs in the near future.
“Mountain biking is quickly becoming very popular in the north and south of the county, with more than 250 Gwynedd students competing at Llanberis and Coed y Brenin to gain a place to represent their county at the final in Llanrwst.
“Huge thanks to all partnerships involved in making this event a huge success again this year. Welsh Cycling, Outdoor Partnership and not forgetting the Gwynedd Sports for Life Team for providing an opportunity to secondary school students throughout Gwynedd.
“Keep an eye out on the ‘Byw’n Iach Gwynedd’ Facebook page for Mountain Bike opportunities and information on next year’s event. Let’s see how many will be representing Gwynedd next year!”
