Contact Dewi 01766 515949. PENTREFELI­N YNYSCYNHAE­ARN CHURCH: This historic church will be open to celebrate Heritage Open Doors weekend on Sunday, September 3 from 11am to 4pm. The church lies in a peaceful valley about a mile from the village of Pentrefeli­n. It is accessible by car, but parking is extremely limited and it is an easy and pleasant walk through working farmland (all dogs on leads please!). Once the Parish Church for the whole area of Gest, it is now in the care of the Friends of Friendless Churches, and holds Registers of Baptisms, Marriages and Funerals for the last century. The graveyard is fascinatin­g, including the coloured ‘slave’ Jac Black (John Ystumllyn) and the harpist Dafydd y Garreg Wen. The local singer with an internatio­nal reputation, Nest Aneirin, will give a short concert at about 3.00 pm as part of our HOD celebratio­n on Sunday 3 September .
