BEAUMARIS and Menai Bridge Camera Club are holding a Summer Exhibition in Bangor.
The exhibition, which runs until Saturday, September 30, will take place in Unit 18, in Bangor’s Deiniol Centre, and on show will be approximately 30 digital images.
The Beaumaris and Menai Bridge Camera Club are a friendly and informal group of more than 60 photographers, mainly from Anglesey and Gwynedd, with a wide range of experience from beginners to professional photographers who have a broad array of photographic interests.
Their photography exhibition will be on display for window viewing from 9am to 5.30pm, Mondays to Saturdays, and 10am to 4pm on a Sunday.
Plus on Fridays and Saturdays, 10am to 4pm, members from the club will be manning the unit, and will be available to have chat about the work on display, and to give more information on the club itself as well as talking about all things photographic. There will also be a projection of digital images to view.
To coincide with the exhibition, the club are also running a photography print competition with prizes for the winner and runner-up for both categories (under 18’s and over 18’s), and are calling on people to submit their entries.
Images can be of any subject matter, taken anywhere and at anytime, and can be in colour or monochrome. NB: Entrants must not be semi or professional photographers, or be a member of a camera club/society or similar.
Images must be no smaller than A5 and no bigger than A4 size, with name, address, email address, phone number and category entered printed on the back. Entry closes on September 23. Images can be dropped off at Unit 18 during open hours, or left at Timpsons (next door) when the unit is closed. Winners will be notified on September 28. Established in 1953, membership of the club is open to all those with an interest in photography.
They have a varied programme which includes visiting speakers, monthly competitions, advice on how to prepare images for competitions, help with image processing as well as visits to other camera clubs, national and international exhibitions, monthly photographic walks and the popular members’ evenings.
The club meet on Friday evenings from September to April in the hall of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dale Street, Menai Bridge.
The 2017/18 season commences at 7:30pm on September 8, with a members’ evening.
