Pwllheli target another island victim in cup

PWLLHELI will aim to defeat Anglesey opposition for the second time in this season’s Welsh Cup when they visit Gaerwen this Saturday.

In the first qualifying round, Pwll saw off Llangefni Town 3-1 in extra time at the Rec.

Next up are Gaerwen, who play in Welsh Alliance Division Two, a notch below the Lleyn Peninsula side.

This Saturday’s second qualifying round line-up also sees Llanrug United home to Llandyrnog United in an all-Welsh Alliance Division One battle. Nantlle Vale face a testing trip to Meliden. There were no Welsh Alliance games last weekend due to the internatio­nal break, but matches took place on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week.
