AGE­ING WELL: Age Cymru Gwynedd a Mon have teamed up with Com­mu­ni­ties First and Gwynedd Coun­cil to run an age­ing well project for over-50s in Ban­gor and Caernar­fon. The aim is to en­cour­age older peo­ple to come for a cuppa and a chat, and to take part in ac­tiv­i­ties if they so wish. For ex­am­ple there are gen­tle chair ex­er­cises in the scout hut in Maesin­cla ev­ery Wed 10am on­wards, a com­puter skills course ev­ery Fri­day from 10am on­wards, whereby peo­ple can bring their own de­vices to learn on, or use ones pro­vided for them. IT CLASSES: Age Cymru Gwynedd a Môn is pro­vid­ing IT classes for older peo­ple (over 50) free of charge at the Scout Hut, Maesin­cla at 10am, ev­ery Fri­day.

GWYNEDD COUN­CIL OPUS: can sup­port peo­ple aged 25 and over on their jour­ney to work, vol­un­teer­ing and train­ing. AR­FON WI: At their meet­ing on Septem­ber 13, Judy Cor­bett de­scribed how she and her hus­band had re­stored, and are continuing to re­store, Gwydir Cas­tle, which was derelict when they bought it more than twenty years ago, and mem­bers look for­ward to vis­it­ing the cas­tle next spring. t the next meet­ing, on Wed­nes­day Oc­to­ber 11, Vanessa Field will talk about the work of med­i­cal de­tec­tion dogs. YOUNG FARM­ERS: Next year Caernar­fon YFC will host the an­nual Eryri Young Farm­ers Rally, which sees a num­ber of clubs within Eryri com­pet­ing against each other in a num­ber of com­pe­ti­tions. As a small (but en­thu­si­as­tic) club in terms of numbers, the prepa­ra­tions need to be­gin well in ad­vance and mem­bers are keen to hear from any for­mer mem­bers, friends, fans and spon­sors who would be in­ter­ested in help­ing in any way, so that the 2018 Caernar­fon YFC Rally will be worth re­mem­ber­ing. There will be an open evening to dis­cuss the rally in Bethel Hall (home of the Club) at 7:30pm, Oc­to­ber 4 with a warm wel­come for all.

All Sun­day ser­vices will be held there un­til the Spring. The Chapel is along­side the big church, from the main en­trance it is next but one door to the left. It may be eas­ier to ac­cess it via the small gate op­po­site the garage, it is then the first door. The Church is open ev­ery day where you will find an ex­hi­bi­tion telling of its his­tory.

SINGING FOR FUN: Lleisiau’r Byd World Voices is a friendly and in­for­mal com­mu­nity choir. Meets ev­ery Wed­nes­day in term-time 7.30-9.30 in the Jerusalem Hall in Cricieth. £5 a ses­sion, with first one free. The choir sings songs in a va­ri­ety of styles and lan­guages in glo­ri­ous har­mony.
