HUN­DREDS of run­ners are pic­tured at the start of the Snow­do­nia Marathon in Llan­beris on Satur­day. The gru­elling race, seen as one of the tough­est in the UK and even Europe, was won by Daniel Jones in two hours and 36 min­utes. The women’s race win­ner was Hay­ley Munn at two hours and 57 min­utes.

The in­au­gu­ral Snow­do­nia Marathon was held in 1982 as an al­ter­na­tive to the nu­mer­ous city-based marathons.
