Mae Meinir yn berson prysur iawn sydd wedi cyhoeddi sawl llyfr i blant ac oedolion yn ogystal a rhedeg yr Amgueddfa Forwrol yn Nefyn. Roedd Meinir wedi dewis mynd i hwylio ar y llong hwyliaiu y Lord Nelson. Un rheswn dros fynd ar y fordaith oedd profi profiadau ei hen daid John Jones a oedd wedi bod yn llongwr ar y Lord Nelson. Dechreuodd John Jones fel trwsiwr hwyliau, gwaith pwysig iawn ar long hwyliau a bu i John Jones weithio ei ffordd i fod yn gapten. Talwyd y diolchiada­u gan ein gweinidog Chris Prew am gael cip ar fywyd caled John Jones oddeutu 100 mlynedd yn ol.
