The roles up for grabs include work at the railway’s Llanberis Station, on board its trains and even on top of Snowdon itself at 3,560ft, within the mountain’s summit building, Hafod Eryri.

The jobs available are locomotive firemen, catering and retail supervisors and assistants, ticket office assistants, train guards and cleaning staff.

There will be a series of recruitment open days at Snowdon Mountain Railway’s Station Café in Llanberis on Monday and Tuesday, February 5 and 6, from 4pm to 8pm.

It is the only public rack and pinion – a toothed rack between the running rails and a cog (pinion) on the locomotive – railway in the UK and carries more than 130,000 passengers annually.
