Arfon march on with top ten hit show
ARFON Ladies continued their push towards the Axis Precision Gwynedd and Anglesey Winter Netball League Division One title with a 31-19 victory over Holyhead.
The Caernarfon-area side made it 10 wins in 11 outings with a comfortable triumph which sees them eight points clear.
Arfon won the opener 10-4 and by the midway point were 17-8 to the good.
The table-toppers took the third 7-2, but Holyhead showed fine fighting spirit to edge the final quarter 9-7.
PoM for Arfon was Alaw Ceris, while Carys Jones took the award for Holyhead.
Moniars dished out a 38-10 thrashing on bottom team Subway Warriors.
Leading 20-6 at half time, the Anglesey team were never in any danger.

Dyffryn Penygroes Ladies edged a tight 16-15 verdict over Tim o Walis, who led 10-9 entering the last quarter.
Walis took the first 4-3 and it was 7-7 at the midway stage. Dyffryn needed to pull out all the stops to win the closer 7-5.

Second-placed Pwllheli outscored Arfon Celts 39-25.
It was just 9-7 to the Lleyn side at the end of the opener, but they were in total control after that, winning subsequent quarters 12-7, 10-5 and 8-6.

In a battle between third and fourth in Division Two, Llangefni outdid Amigos 27-18.
Cefni held a narrow 12-10 lead at the split, but were much the better team in the second half, winning the other quarters 7-2 and 8-6. PoM: Llangefni - Elin Salter; Amigos - Heledd Davies.
Runaway leaders Menai Mavericks annihilated basement team Sombreros 56-6, scoring 14, 13, 16 and 13 across the quarters. PoM: Mavericks - Charlotte Lewis; Sombreros - Swyn Edwards.
Genod y Dyffryn still look strong in second place, having hammered Porthmadog 46-12 in their latest outing.
