Homemade machine gun ‘found in house’ of former squaddie

-

AHOMEMADE sub-machine gun was allegedly found at the home of a former squad- die.

Llifon Jones appeared in court on Thursday after being arrested at his home in Trem yr Wyddfa, Penygroes, on Tuesday night.

The 31-year-old faces charges of making and possessing a firearm, possessing an offensive weapon – a knife – and two charges of threatening behaviour.

Prosecutor Diane Williams told magistrates in Caernarfon the defendant should be dealt with at crown court, where the minimum sentence for possession of a firearm is five years.

No indication of plea was given, but Jones, wearing a white shirt and blue suit, said that he had acted “honourably” and followed “the law of the land and the 10 Commandments”.

Jones was refused bail, and bench chairman Peter Lunt Williams remanded him in custody until his next court appearance on March 5.

In a “statement of truth” which was posted on his Facebook page in the early hours of Monday, Jones referred to himself as “Llifon Ap Clifford Ap William Ap Richard”.

He said that “under Article 61 provision I can seize Crown Lands and possessions belonging to the Crown until I have redress”.

His Facebook page includes repeated references to the Magna Carta, the EU and ancient history, as well as posts about Judaism and Islam.
