The classes are held in the Memorial Hall Market Place. It runs puppy classes, obedience training, ring craft and a fun agility session. It also offers training for The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme ON Saturday, April 7, 2018 Criccieth’s RNLI Lifeboat Station will celebrate the official opening of its inshore rescue boat’s new boathouse and the dedication of a new launch vehicle.
The new boathouse, which is located on the foreshore at Criccieth beach, is used to house the Arancia inshore rescue boat, Margaret a Nantw. The purpose-built facility also provides storage for all ancillary equipment and replaces the previous temporary storage container.
The new Mitsubishi L200 4 x 4 launch vehicle is used to transport and launch the inshore rescue boat to various launch sites around Tremadog Bay.
Criccieth Lifeboat Station is indebted to the benefactors who have contributed to the cost of building and purchasing the new boathouse and launch vehicle.
All four either live locally, or have longstanding links to Criccieth.
The legacy of the late Miss Margaret Evans has already paid for the Arancia inshore rescue boat, which was sent to the station in 2011. The balance of this legacy has gone towards the cost of the boathouse.
Mr Nick Millard has been a great benefactor to the Criccieth Lifeboat Station since he moved to the town. His continued generosity has resulted in the purchase of the new launch vehicle as well as contributing towards the cost of the boathouse.
Miss Noreen Conway Morris, who lives in London, has a long association with Criccieth and has a house in the town. She has made a generous contribution in memory of her brothers Richard and John Conway Morris.
Misses Ann and Joan Plimpton are two women from Heswall on the Wirral whose family have been coming to Criccieth since the early years of the last.
Prior to the event, Criccieth’s lifeboat operations manager Peter Williams said: “The ceremony will not only be an opportunity for the RNLI to officially accept both the boathouse and launch vehicle into its care, but to personally thank the benefactors who have contributed so generously to their purchase. Their donations will directly contribute towards our mission of saving lives at sea.”
