Pen sign off with Bay win

MONDAY’S action in the Welsh Alliance League saw Penrhyndeu­draeth end their season on a high when they pipped Trearddur Bay United 2-1 in Division One.

Goals from Richard Jones and Meilir Williams secured a mid-table finish for Penrhyn.

Nantlle Vale are out of the bottom two following a 1-1 home draw with Llanrwst United, Rhys Williams equalising for the hosts.

Llanberis missed a chance to edge up to fourth when they lost 2-0 at St Asaph City.

In Division Two, Y Felinheli took the honours 3-2 at Blaenau Amateurs.

Gruff John, Iwan Owen and Dylan Jones were on target for the visitors, Joe Dukes and Carwyn Jones hitting back.

Penrhyndeu­draeth served up a tremendous 4-0 result at Barmouth and Dyffryn on Saturday, Meilir Williams (2), Ben Jones and Huw Quaeck sharing the goals.

Rhys Williams and Aaron Griffiths netted as Nantlle Vale claimed another good scalp, beating Llandudno Albion 2-1 at Maes Dulyn.

Alan Mark Owen (2), Luke Phillips and Jonathan Sadler earned Llanrug United a 4-2 result at St Asaph.

Iwan Owen’s treble was not enough to save Y Felinheli from a 4-3 defeat at Meliden in Division Two, but Blaenau Amateurs fared better, caning Aberffraw 6-2 thanks to Gareth Roberts, Iwan Jones, Iwan Griffiths, Kieren Ellis, Andrew Roberts and Iolo Thomas with a goal apiece.
