TV STAR HAILS HIDDEN TALENTS
NEW CRIME DRAMA SHOT IN SNOWDONIA AND ANGLESEY
THE star of a new TV crime drama has hailed North Wales “an incredible place to film” ahead of the release of the new BBC One series.
Hidden, which stars Game of Thrones actress Gwyneth Keyworth and Requiem and Emmerdale star Sian Reese-Williams, was shot at various locations in the region.
The harrowing drama tells the story of a detective who returns to her childhood home to care for her father as his health begins to deteriorate.
But when the body of a local woman is found in a disused quarry, the atmosphere changes. DI Cadi John, played by Sian Reese-Williams, leads the investigation, that unearths a dangerous and disturbing reality.
Tackling the issues of mental health, the appropriation of women’s bodies and misogyny, the series is made up of interweaving stories, all linked by the abduction and incarceration of a young woman who is held in captivity high inin thethe Snowdonia moun-ountains for years.
It was filmed inn several locations in North Wales, including Snowdonia, Rhyd Ddu, Caernar fon, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Bangor, the Menai Straitt and on a remotete ● island off Anglesey.ey.

The first episode of the eightpart series, written by acclaimed Welsh writers Ed Talfan and Caryl Lewis, will get underway on BBC One Wales, Monday, June 4. Ed Talfan, said: “Hidden was a challenging show to deliver, but it gave us an opportunity to work with an amazing team of collaborators, in a landscape that never failed to inspire.
“We knew from the outset where we wanted to set it – there is something about the North Wales landscape that draws you towards it – the danger of it, the jaw-dropping beauty – it felt like the right place to set our story.”
Like Keeping Faith and Hinterland, Hidden is another BBC drama filmed back-to-back in both Welsh and English, with the Welsh version, named Craith, having already been aired on S4C before the English BBC One screening. ● Hidden starts on BBC One Wales at 9pm on Monday.
