cised its location. It has been dubbed an infinity pool because its positioning gives the impression that it merges into the surrounding landscape.

Walkers with local knowledge would stop and rest there.

However as the location has become more widely known, he says the area has been desecrated by people who walk off established tracks to be photographed or party at the site – leaving rubbish and destruction behind.

He told our sister paper the Daily Post: “I’ve got no objection to people going there, but since the location has gone viral there’s thousands of people going there just to take a picture.

“It’s the mess they leave behind – it’s disgraceful. People are partying at nights.

“I want people to go there but they are destroying the environment. It cost me a fortune of my own money and people are going there and wrecking it.”

He said the logistics of building the site meant a helicopter was needed to get some of the materials there and they even had to dig the last 50m of pipe by hand during the three months it took to build.

A gate has now had to be put on the land because he says people who are not experienced walkers and climbers are wandering off established paths and damaging the environment.

He added: “I just want people to respect the area.

“It’s just becoming a joke and in a matter of four weeks the amount of people going there has been unbelievable.

“I am not being a killjoy – it’s about respect for the environment and enjoying the habitat.

“It’s not people going up Snowdon, it’s people just going up there to party that are the problem.”

He claims that the National Parks Authority, in whose area the site resides, has threatened to step in and cover the pool with wire mesh unless people start showing some respect to the area.
