BONTNEWYDD YOUTH CLUB: Bontnewydd Youth Club leaders John and Maria offer a warm welcome to the young people of Bontnewydd and surroundin­g villages to participat­e in the club’s activities. The club is open every Tuesday from 7-9pm and open to students from Year Seven upwards. Activities scheduled this year include trips out of the club to participat­e in Ice skating, Indoor Climbing, Ten Pin Bowling, trips to the cinema. Also a range of activities offered within the club including pool, table tennis, cookery, boxing punch bag and game consoles. HWYL Y BONT: The week will start with a fun day on Saturday, July 14, at the Bontnewydd primary school yard. 10k and 5k race, registrati­on at noon. A number of stalls, face painting, bouncy castell, BBQ, fancy dress competitio­n, and music by Phil Gas, Brodyr McGee, Cyffro and a song by Heidi Salisbury-Turner. There will also be a bar and coffee bay on the day. Treasure Hunt Monday July 16, 6pm - £1 adults and 50p child starting and finishing at Gypsy Wood Bontnewydd. Refresheme­nts at the end. Bingo - Tuesday July 17 at the Bontnewydd Ganolfan. Entrance £1 to include one bingo ticket. Book of 6 tickets £5. A number of prizes. Noson Lawen Thursday July 19 at the Bontnewydd Ganolfan starting at 7.30pm. Entrance £5 with an evening of entertainm­ent by Geth & Glesni, Bach & Mawr, Emyr, Ela & Dylan and Bontnewydd School Band. Curry & Quiz Friday July 20, an end to the Hwyl y Bont week at the Newborough Arms Bontnewydd. Starting at 7.30pm. Tickets £8 adults and £4 children.
