Woman, 23, threatened nurse with craft knives

-

A WOMAN who assaulted a nurse and threatened to slash her with a knife has been spared jail.

Alex Yvette Alexander was found to have several craft knives in her pocket when police arrested her at Ysbyty Gwynedd in July.

She was told if she breaches an 18-month community order or offends again then she is likely to be sent to prison.

Her barrister Gemma Gordon said she attended court anxious about the outcome of the hearing and the short taste of custody was “worse than she had expected”.

Alexander, 23, of Northgate Street, Caernarfon, admitted charges of assault, having a bladed article and a public order offence.

Sentencing Judge Huw Rees said: “You assaulted her by swinging your fists and used the language of the gutter to make threats. This is alarming in the extreme.

“If you did not understand before you understand now that you do not carry knives in public.

“It is not the first time you have abused someone who is trying to help you.

“Rather than send you to prison I want something to hang over you for the next 18 months.

“If you breach this order I expect you to be breached and brought back here and before me then, as night follows day, I’ll send you to prison.”

The court heard Alexander has mental health issues and on July 30 this year had contacted the Hergest Unit at Ysbyty Gwynedd for support.

Richard Edwards, prosecuting, said she was feel- BRITAIN’S most notorious criminal, Charles Bronson , has put his name to a new range of fitness supplements.

The news comes following a new Facebook page and website for Bronson Fitness Ltd, which has appeared online. The brand says it’s “100% backed by Charlie”. In 2014 Aberystwyth-born Bronson (right) changed his name to Salvador.

The infamous criminal will not be benefitting financially from the new venture. Bronson Fitness Ltd. say they will “of course” be making charitable donations, following in Salvador’s footsteps.

In 2017, for example, the infamous inmate raised money to support brave youngster Bradley Lowery, who was battling with cancer. Alexander later attended the Hergest unit and was taken to the A&E department to be admitted.

“This appeared to trigger unhappiness in the defendant who, without warning, swung her fists at the nurse who was with her. She put up her hands to protect her head but contact was made with her arms.

“The defendant was restrained but as soon as she was released she swung her fists again. This occurred several times until a security guard arrived,” the barrister said.

The court heard she had been seen holding something in her pocket and was asked what was in the trousers.

“When police arrived officers asked her what was in her pockets and she Salvador’s reportedly ‘long lostl son’, George Bamby (inset below), said: “Charlie is very supportive of the homeless and victimsv of domestic abuse amongst many others. He regularly sells his artwork to raise money for charity and he will have made it a condition that the company is supportive ofo charitable organisations”. Bronson Fitness Ltd. say that all charitable donations will be considered independently of Salvador, though they will consider any requests he might make. He is said to be “very excited about this product launch”. Bamby told The Daily Post that he’d spokenp to his alleged father about the newnew productsp during a visit with himhim yesterday. HHe said: “Charlie says that evevery gym in the country will bbe selling these products wwithin two years”. “He’s really proud to be asassociated with his susupplements and very excited aboabout future growth”, Bamby addeadded. produced craft knife blades and said she was going to use them to slash the nurse,” he said.

Mr Edwards said Alexander had committed a similar offence in March when she assaulted a charity worker and had shown her she had a knife in her waistband.

Ms Gordon asked the judge to consider Alexander had not had contact with the Probation Service before and could be assisted by their intervention.
