HARVEST THANKSGIVI­NG: The church officials wish to thank everyone for their generous donations towards decorating the Church for this year’s harvest services, the Church had a thank you tree added so anyone attending could add a leave onto the tree to thank God for his generosity to them, the lectern was decorated to thank and remember the people from the village that lost their lives in the 1st World War 100 years ago. On Monday 15th October a Welsh evensong harvest service was held with guest preacher Dr Huw Tegid Roberts Llangefni, it was great to welcome him back to the Church he was brought up in, Diolch yn fawr! Following the service at the Church hall, Harvest supper was served, it was great to see the hall full for this event the guest speaker was Mr Ray Humphreys from Hawarden speaking about his visit to Iceland. Thanks to everyone who supported the harvest services, attended the supper and generously donated and prepared the food for the supper. WAR AT SEA: To celebrate the centennial of the end of the Great War Porthmadog Maritime Museum will be hosting a special display to commemorat­e Welsh men lost at sea. This is part of a major project by the Royal Commission of Historic Monuments and others and there will be displays hosted by all museums throughout Wales. BANC BWYD PWLLHELI FOODBANK: Thanks all the chapels, churches and schools who have supported us with donations for Harvest Thanksgivi­ng, and everyone who donates food and toiletries in the trolley in ASDA Pwllheli. All the support we receive locally is an enormous help to those local people in crisis who are referred to the Foodbank by specialist agencies. Thank you everyone, with your help the Foodbank was able to give a total of 28 food packs in September, making a total for the year of 385. The number for the coming months is likely to increase as seasonal work ends and winter weather begins to take hold.
