Jaguar choose N.Wales for showcase jaunt
WHEN a legendary motoring brand wanted the perfect place to showcase its latest car there was only one choice.
North Wales has become the number one destination in recent years for car manufacturers – with Aston Martin, Mercedes Benz and Hyundai among those who have come for a spin and a few pictures. So it comes as no surprise that Jaguar followed in their tyre marks with the F-TYPE - coming on a four day trip around the region before Christmas.
Two drivers and a camera crew took in locations (pictured) from The Evo Triangle on the Conwy/Denbighshire border to Llandudno, Betws-y-Coed and Llanberis. As well as the normal stunning landscape images they also stopped off in historic Caernarfon for some ‘car about town’ shots.
All these images are now being used in a global social media campaign to promote the car – once again putting wonderful North Wales in the spotlight.
A spokeswoman for Jaguar Land Rover said: “We chose Wales because it offered such a diverse and stunning landscape; from open roads in breathtakingly dramatic countryside, to cobbled streets in quaint little towns.
“A great opportunity to show that F-TYPE is the perfect everyday sports car.
“The Madagascar Orange colour really allowed us to take our photography to the next level as well. The cars were turning heads and inviting questions from the locals everywhere we went.”
Jim Jones, MD of North Wales Tourism, has said he is “delighted but not altogether surprised” that car brands are using the region for their advertising campaigns.
