WIDOWERS AND WIDOWS: Social group covering Anglesey, Bangor, Caernarfon and Llyn, set up for widowed people to enjoy life again in the company of other widowed people who understand. As a guide it is suggested people aged 50-70 will get the most from membership, as it aims to be active, out and about. At the moment it meets regularly in Bangor, Menai Bridge and Caernarfon and also meet up weekly for walks, and go to opera, ballet, gigs, cinema, meals, pub quiz and weekends away. The social enterprise and registered charity was establishe­d in 1996 to offer profession­al care support for people with learning disabiliti­es in the south of Gwynedd. Over the years it has developed a number of commercial operations that include reuse and recycling of furniture and clothing/textiles, an arts and crafts centre, retail shops, market garden and it’s most recent project, a 3*10 bedroom hotel.
