MERCHED Y WAWR: Ar gyfer y daith ddiwedd y tymor, fis Mehefin, aeth Merched y Wawr Deiniolen ar ymweliad â distyllfa chwisgi a gin Rhaeadr Aber (Aber Falls) yn Abergwyngregyn. Gyda Derfel o gwmni bysiau Rhiwlas wrth y llyw, cawsont eu cludo i Aber yn ddiogel, gan gasglu aelodau ar y ffordd a chyrraedd y ddistyllfa ac ymgasglu yn y siop i gyfarfod â’r tywysydd. Wrth gerdded o gwmpas a chlywed hanes y broses gynhyrchu, a syllu ar y crochenni a’r cawgiau copr a bras anferth, dysgwyd, er mai gin y ddistyllfa sy’n fwyaf enwog i ni y dyddiau hyn o bosibl, bod chwisgi’n cael ei gynhyrchu’n helaeth yn Aber hefyd, a bod y ddistyllfa gin wedi’i chreu i fedru creu cynnyrch yn gyflymach, gan fod chwisgi yn cymryd dros dair blynedd i aeddfedu, cyn ei botelu. Roedd yn rhaid tynnu lluniau i gofio’r ymweliad, wrth gwrs, a blasu’r cynnyrch, ac roedd detholiad hyfryd o samplau i’w profi, gan gynnwys gin blas riwbob a sinsir, a blas marmalêd oren, ynghyd â liquer coffi a siocled tywyll, a digon o gynghorion ar sut i weini’r gwirodydd (efo hufen iâ neu goffi, neu lefrith?). Roedd tipyn o gic ynddynt, ac roedd y noson yn dal i wella wrth alw i gael bwyd ar y ffordd adre ym mwyty’r Llechen yn Nhalybont ger Bangor, ble roedd croeso cynnes a digon o ddewis o fwyd arbennig o dda. Hyfryd yw mynd ar deithiau yr adeg hon o’r flwyddyn heb betruso dim am ambarel, menyg a dillad glaw, ac yn bendant heb lampau golau, gan iddi barhau’n olau nes cyrraedd adref am 10.30 yr hwyr bron! Diolchodd Marian Williams, y cadeirydd, i Jackie Jones, trefnydd y daith, am ei gwaith trylwyr unwaith eto. Mae rhai o’r aelodau eisoes wedi cwrdd i drefnu rhaglen y tymor nesaf, ond gall merched sydd â rhagor o syniadau eu cyflwyno i’r ysgrifennydd Mrs Beryl Owen cyn gynted a phosibl. Bydd cyfarfod cynta’r tymor newydd nos Lun, Medi 16, pan fydd croeso i unrhyw aelodau newydd.

EISTEDDFOD DEINIOLEN: Bydd Eisteddfod Gadeiriol Deiniolen a’r Cylch 2019 yn cael ei chynnal nos Wener, Hydref 25 a ph’nawn Sadwrn, Hydref 26 eleni, ac mae’r paratoadau ar ei chyfer yn mynd rhagddynt. Bydd y nos Wener yn canolbwyntio bron yn llwyr ar gystadleuaeth Ysgoloriaeth berfformio arbennig i bobl ifanc o dan 25 oed a fydd yn cynnig gwobr hael iawn. Gallwch gael y rhaglen yn eich siop Gymraeg leol, ar stondin Cymdeithas Eisteddfodau Cymru yn yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol yn Llanrwst fis Awst, neu drwy ffonio’r ysgrifennydd ar 07546 926582.
