TV presenter Kate’s praise for North Wales on holiday

-

TV presenter Kate Garraway praised the North Wales coast after having an “amazing” time in the region.

The 52-year-old TV presenter, pictured, who regularly hosts Good Morning Britain, spent the weekend in Abersoch with her family and friends.

Her party included husband Derek Draper, her children Darcey and William as well as meteorologist and friend Clare Nasir.

The group appeared to spend much of the weekend enjoying the glorious sunshine, and visited Saint Tudwal’s Islands, situated just south of Abersoch.

There they enjoyed watersport activity ‘tubing’ – where participants ride on top of an inflatable tube whilst being towed at high speeds by a boat.

Garraway shared photographs of the party’s fantastic “seaside adventure” on Sunday night in a post to her 207,000 followers on Instagram.

She said in the caption: “Thank you Abersoch for an amazing weekend of seaside adventure with the best of friends.”

Garraway also teased of the region’s reputation for bad weather, adding: “Who says it always rains?”

The Channel 5 weather presenter said the Llŷn Peninsula provided a “perfectly peaceful” weekend.

And in another post, 49-year-old Nasir complimented the region by comparing it to the Mediterranean. The Met Office meteorologist told her followers: “It could have been the Med... but it was even better.” Garraway’s post sparked further praise from others on social media. One follower, from Manchester, said she felt “very lucky to be able to have North Wales not too far away.” Others gave first-hand praise of Abersoch, calling it “a hidden gem,” “a truly fab place” as well as a “wonderful part of the world.” Residents of the region also joined the discussion, with one commenting: “Thank you for coming and helping to promote my homeland.” Another said it was “lovely” to have met the journalist over the weekend, also sharing a photo of himself with Kate and Clare.

One follower even joked for Garraway to keep the secret, commenting: “Careful, [we] don’t want the whole world knowing about Abersoch.”
