Maximum feelgood factor in music show

-

THIS week we talk to Lleuwen Steffan, who will appear in the Theatr Bara Caws play Gair o Gariad at the National Eisteddfod this month.

Q A

Tell us about your family:

I’m a mother of two little monkeys! Caradog is seven and Eira is eight. Both born in Brittany where I lived for ten years. My father is singer Steve Eaves and my little sister is writer Manon Steffan Ros. My brother Iwan Steffan is living in Liverpool, since 2009.

Q A

What are you best known for?

I am a singer of songs and hymns. I play the guitar and like to think my songs are known more than I am. Probably wishful thinking but my adventure in songwriting is ongoing and is what gives me most peace and enjoyment.

Q A

Tell us about your show

“Gair o Gariad” is totally unique. Not quite a play, not a musical, not a gig. But yet there are elements of all these within the show. A mix of the performing arts with much improvisation. Every performance is unique depending on the songs that are chosen by the audience. It runs from August 6-9.

Q A

What can audiences expect?

Maximum feelgood factor. Best party in town. Relaxed and fun. The show works best when audience members choose the songs in advance. You can remain anonymous so no one needs to know which song you choose and for who. Send your requests via www.theatrbaracaws. com.

Q ATell us five things which make your show great? 1. The actor Rhodri Sion. 2. The input of the audience. 3. Show based on the emotion of song. 4. Each performance is unique. 5. Did I mention Rhodri Sion?

Q AWhat’s your showfavourite part of the The song requests and the letters that come with them.

Q

Tell us about the costumes:

A QClothes of the now like everyone else. And trainers for running.

What’s the best song from the performance and who’s it by?

The audience choose the songs so the best song can be whatever you want it to be...

AQ A

Tell us what’s good about the venue: The National Eisteddfod is, without a doubt, my favourite festival of all. The festival of all festivals. It’s an honour to be a part of the many hundreds of Welsh performances that will be at the festival. “Gair o Gariad” will be held at the Community Hall, Watling Street, Llanrwst.

Q A

Who is the director style?and what’s their Betsan Llwyd is the director. She is also a very experienced actress herself and knows the process we are going through.

I feel very free in this show. Which is a wonderful thing. It comes from her and the faith she has in what we do.

Q AWhat are your best and worst habits: I’m not telling you about my bad habits. Are any habits good habits? I suppose running and playing the guitar are good habits.

QWho’s the biggest celebrity you’ve met?

Beti George. The true Queen of Wales.

A Q

Once the tour has finished what are your plans?

AI will be working on duo concerts with singer Sian James in September.

I have admired her work since I can remember and I can’t wait to learn from her through music.
