AGE WELL: Both the choir and drama groups are currently busy rehearsing for the Christmas co ncert and pantomime respective­ly. New members are always welcome. Once a month during the winter there is a guest speaker, and start off this season with Dafydd Iwan who has very kindly agreed to come to entertain once again with songs and chat on October 25 at 11am. This is open to anyone wishing to attend. The AGM will be held on November 1 at 11am. Please make every effort to attend this meeting.

DROP-IN MINDFULNES­S SESSIONS: Lunchtime drop-in mindfulnes­s practice sessions open to all, from complete beginners to people who wish to keep their practice topped up. Ideal for anyone who wishes to get a taste of mindfulnes­s. Held at the Doctor’s surgery (Ty Doctor), Nefyn, every 2 weeks on a Tuesday from 1-2pm. It is fine to come for the first half hour only. NEFYN AND DISTRICT LADIES CLUB: At the first meeting after the summer break members were informed that due to changes in legislatio­n the charity they are supporting during the President’s two year term, Women’s Aid, is now inclusive of men and is therefore known as Domestic Abuse Safety Unit (DASU). It was agreed that the club would continue to raise money this year for DASU. The next meeting is on Thursday October 10, 7.45 for 8pm at the Nanhoren Hotel Nefyn when the speaker will be Jane Casey, Medicinal Herbalist. New members always welcome.

NEFYN PENSIONERS CLUB: A meeting was held on Tuesday, October 1 with Mrs B W Jones in the chair. Mrs Jones welcomed members and sent best wishes to members unable to attend .Wishes for a speedy recovery were sent to Mrs M Parry. Mrs E Williams a new member was welcomed. The meeting continued with lunch. Mrs Jones thanked the caterers Nia and Dylan. Members then enjoyed a game of bingo. The next meeting will be on Tuesday November 5. Names will be taken for the trip to Llandudno in December.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 13: 11am Family Harvest Communion service, Food will be collected during the service for the local food bank and the homeless.

MONDAY OCTOBER 14: 6pm Harvest service with the guest preacher the Rev Canon Dylan Williams Vicar of Bro Eifionydd Ministry area.

HARVEST SUPPER: The harvest supper will be held at the Church hall at 7pm to follow the service, Tickets £7 and are available from the Church officials or one of the members, the guest speaker is Mr Dafydd Glyn Ellis Brynrefail.

HOMELESS SUNDAY: A special service will be held at St Helen’s Church on Sunday October 13 at 4pm to remember about the homeless, the collection made will be donated to Shelter Cymru. A warm welcome is extended to all the above services and supper.

DEUDRAETH CAMERA CLUB: Monday, October 14 at 7.30pm. Mari Wyn Lloyd will give a talk entitled ‘3400 Acres’. Mari is from Cwm Nantcol near Llanbedr and in a series of photograph­s she depicts the local landscape and farming community in their working situations. The prints show the landscape that surrounds the farms with the steep Rhinogydd range in the background, while other photograph­s show the real world of Welsh farming with some of the characterf­ul individual­s who live in the area. The work was Mari’s final major project towards her photograph­y degree at Chester University. The meeting will take place at Holy Trinity Church Hall, Penrhyndeu­draeth and entry costs £3 at the door, including light refreshmen­ts.
