Williams the hero as Blaenau go through

MEILIR Williams scored twice in Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs’ 2-1 extra time victory at Llandudno Albion in the Cookson Cup.

Peter Jones put the Albion in front, then Williams equalised before scoring the decider in the 112th minute.

Ashley Owen’s strike ensured Nantlle Vale triumphed 1-0 at Mynydd Llandegai while Iwan Evans (2), Carl Griffiths, Llion Jones and Gavin Jones were all on target in Llanrug United’s 5-0 drubbing of Llandyrnog United and Daniel Clarke and Jake Walker scored as Denbigh Town won 2-1 at Penrhyndeu­draeth, Liam Watson the home scorer.

In Welsh Alliance Division Two, Jamie Banks, Dafydd Gwyn (2) and Martyn Smith ensured Pwllheli swept aside Aberffraw 4-0, while Y Felinheli won a 4-3 thriller at Llannefydd.

Ifan Emyr, Gruff John and Sion Parry (2) with the away goals, Ciran Jones and Llion Morris (2) replying for Llannefydd.

Mochdre Sports and Barmouth and Dyffryn played out a 3-3 draw.

Peter Bould, Tom Roberts and Bradley Wynne found the net for Sports, Shane Jones (2, 1 pen) and Robert Griffiths hitting back.
