Choral festival is on song for this weekend

LLANDUDNO’S annual North Wales Choral Festival returns to Venue Cymru, on the weekend of November 8-10 for a jam-packed weekend that any choral lover will not want to miss.

Friday evening starts the weekend with local choir Côr Meibion Maelgwn Male Voice Choir entertaini­ng all with a variety of musical genres in both Welsh and English. Along with Welsh National Opera soprano Fflur Wyn (pictured right), who’s quickly establishi­ng herself as one of the country’s foremost singers on the operatic and concert platform. A fantastic atmosphere is guaranteed. Get your tickets now at £17 per adult and £8.50 per child.

Saturday will kickstart the weekend bringing three competitio­ns starting from 10am; Male Voice, Youth, and Just for Fun, in which it will be up to the three adjudicato­rs, David King, Nia Morgan and Trevor Hughes to decide on first, second and third.

The Festival Celebratio­n Concert will take place on Saturday evening at 8pm, offering a wonderful variety of choirs to enjoy themselves on stage without worrying about the watchful eye of the adjudicato­rs.

On Sunday it’s time for some more competitio­ns starting from 11.15am – Ladies, Barbershop and, new for this year, the Musicals category. Another busy day of competitio­ns with choirs travelling from all over the UK and Ireland.

Day passes are available for both days of the competitio­ns, £16 adults and £8 children, per day. One category tickets: £8 adults and £4 children, per category.
