Hermits still into something good 55 years on
HERMAN’S Hermits are celebrating their 55th anniversary, and as part of their tour they will call in at the William Aston Hall in Wrexham, on Sunday, February 23.
The English beat rock band Herman’s Hermits was one of the biggest selling bands of the 1960s, not just in the UK, but around the world.
From their early beginnings in Manchester in 1964, as Herman and the Hermits, the band have chalked up 23 hit singles, 10 hit albums, appeared in three major movies and sold in excess of 75 million records worldwide, including number 1 hit singles on both sides of the Atlantic.
Since 1971 and the departure of Peter Noone to pursue a solo career in the entertainment business, the group has never stopped.
Original member Barry (the Bean) Whitwam has guided the band from strength to strength into one of the hardest working acts in the business – they still average more than 200 one-night stands per year.
Their touring schedule takes them to Germany, Belgium, Holland, the Scandinavian countries, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand on a regular basis, and they still find time to perform in the UK, packing in the audiences at every venue.
Rolling back the 60s sees Herman’s Hermits embarking on their Solo 55th Anniversary Tour, which offers an evening of nostalgia, bringing their hits to life.
Tickets for the Herman’s Hermits concert at Wrexham’s William Aston Hall, on February 23, cost £24 (advance), from the box office on: 0844 249 1000, or online at thewilliamastonhall.com
