MANSION AND HOTEL BACK ON THE MARKET:

GUIDE PRICES OF £2M AND £1.5M IN MOVE FOLLOWING JANUARY RECEIVERSHIP

- Owen Hughes

PLAS Glynllifon mansion and Seiont Manor hotel have been put on the market.

The mansion house on the Glynllifon estate and hotel in Llanrug went into receivership in January.

Paul and Rowena Williams bought Seiont Manor hotel, in Llanrug, and Plas Glynllifon, near Caernarfon, in 2016.

The multi-million-pound redevelopment of the three-storey Grade I-listed mansion stalled.

At the end of 2018 the couple entered into a partnership on both properties with Mylo Capital Ltd, run by Myles Cunliffe.

But the properties have been dogged by issues and administrators Duff & Phelps moved in on the sites.

Now leisure property specialist Fleurets has been instructed by the administrators to market the sites.

Plas Glynllifon, which was built in the 1830s for Lord Newborough with a late-Victorian extension, has a guide price of £2m whilst Seiont Manor is available for offers around £1.5m.

Lesley Watmough and Ian Taylor of Fleurets are leading the marketing process and added: “Seiont Manor, at the foot of Snowdon, was an 18th century farmstead.

“Until January 2020, it operated as a hotel, with 28 bedrooms.

“Plas Glynllifon is an impressive structure with 42 bedrooms and set in approximately 16 acres with extensive gardens and woodland. It is partway through a restoration and renovation, therefore many areas are still semi-derelict.

“Both properties are to be sold by the Joint LPA Fixed Charge Receivers and therefore there is only limited information available.”
