40 jobs created at holiday park

‘NEW PERMANENT ROLES WILL PROVIDE STABILITY FOR LOCALS’

- Owen Hughes

NORTH Wales’ biggest holiday park has created dozens of permanent jobs after a year of investment.

Haven’s Hafan y Mor Holiday Park near Pwllheli spent £13m on new and upgraded facilities in 2019 with the development of the Dragon Lakes Adventure Village, Coasthouse restaurant and Glendower pub.

This has seen the holiday firm create another 40 permanent job roles.

While the park employs up to 400 seasonal staff in peak summer the full year roles help local people build a career at the company.

This now takes the total number of permanent positions to more than 100.

“We are delighted that we are able to provide these annual contracts to our team members,” said Andrew Baker, general manager at Hafan y Mor.

“We do run a seasonal business so we will still have a large amount of temporary contracts over the summer, but we are delighted that we can provide this stability to more of our local team.”

The jobs will be across a range of park functions from security to accommodation, leisure to catering.

“Hafan y Mor is a key part of Haven’s business and we are very committed to

North Wales and Gwynedd in particular,” said Andrew Baker.

“The new contracts will provide more stability for local people and provide them with the opportunity to be part of a bigger leisure company which has great development opportunities, should they wish to build their career further in the tourism industry.”
