YFC’s net-zero carbon challenge

-

YOUNG farmers are being urged to enter a video contest to find carbon solutions for the industry.

The national federation of YFCs hopes the winners will go on to become climate change advocates for farming and the UK.

The Defra-backed challenge involves sharing ideas or examples of how the NFU can reach its farming net zero target by 2040.

Topics could include carbon capture and storage, energy efficiency or renewable energy.

Participants need to create a short video showing what they are doing on farms – or what they are planning to do.

Non-YFC members can also enter.

The NFYFC urged entrants to “be creative, bold and brave”.

Ideas will be used to create a YFC guide for future club activities.

Entries close on July 30. Details: sarah. palmer@nfyfc.org.uk.
