Trawsfynydd actor to make Corrie debut:
AN actor from Gwynedd is to become the latest North Wales face to join the cast of Coronation Street.
Haydn Holden, from Trawsfynydd, will make his debut appearance on the popular ITV soap opera next year, and will play Sean Tulley’s mentor in the beauty products business.
He will follow in the footsteps of fellow North Walians Gareth Pierce from Pwllheli, who plays Todd Grimshaw, and Kimberly HartSimpson from Rhyl, who played sex-worker, Nicky Wheatley.
WGM Atlantic Talent & Literary Group announced the news on social media over the weekend.
They posted: “We are delighted to announce our wonderful Haydn Holden will be entering Coronation Street soon! Get used to this face, you are going to be seeing plenty of it!.”
ITV said Welsh-speaking Haydn, who now lives in Manchester, is not due to hit our screens until next year and hasn’t yet started filming.
It is understood his character will help Sean set up a new cosmetic business venture but further details are yet to be revealed.
Haydn is best known for playing Ian Brady in the three-part drama Myra Hindley: The Untold Story alongside Gemma Lawman from Prestatyn.
He also appeared in Nudes in Tartan, Stella and Dream On.
The ITV soap celebrates its 60th anniversary this month and has featured several of the region’s talented actors, including Ian PulestonDavies, originally from Flint, who played Owen Armstrong from 2010 to 2015.
There was also Paula Lane (Kylie Platt) – whose family live in Conwy and Bruce Jones (Les Battersby) who lives in Abergele.
