Helping with safety nets... and making sure that those who need them know about them
TOGETHER with Hywel Williams MP, I have released a pamphlet full of information about the support available to help individuals and families deal with some of the effects of the cost-of-living crisis.
The on-line document, collated by our conscientious staff will be updated on a weekly basis to make sure all information is relevant and up-to-date.
We have produced this on-line resource as we know there is a real need for information on the support which is available.
We have had many enquiries from concerned constituents so we decided to pull the information together. It is available online and, upon request, on paper too.
The aim is to raise awareness of the safety nets that are available to people in tough times and we hope that the document will act as a directory of support in dire times.
Families and individuals in Arfon are under enormous pressure due to soaring energy prices, rising food costs and a significant hike in mortgage and rent payments.
Sometimes, knowing where and who to turn to for help and advice can be difficult.
From advice on welfare support and food banks to help with utility bills - we have endeavoured to include as much information as possible in once place to make it easier for people.

We are also helping people in a practical way by utilizing part of our constituency office in the city of Bangor for distributing food donated by supermarkets food which would otherwise go to waste.
Bwyd i Bawb Bangor FoodShare is organised by Plaid Cymru councillors and volunteers in the city and distributes food on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m.
The project, set up nearly 5 years ago in the Spring of 2018, doesn’t require a referral or any documentation in order for people to receive food.
Food Shares are a reflection of the alarming situation in which we find ourselves, but I would like to express my gratitude to the Bwyd i Bawb Bangor selfless volunteers who carry out this sort of work in our communities day-in-day-out. I extend my gratitude to other volunteers doing similar invaluable work in communities across Arfon. The schemes are a lifeline to people in need during these difficult times.
