- St Neots Hockey Club’s women’s first team

ST NEOTS Hockey Club’s women’s first team confirmed promotion to Division 1N with a 5-3 final day victory over Pelicans.

Saints were two goals up at half-time, both coming from Louise Taylor.

Taylor completed her hat-trick after the break from the penalty spot and despite the visitors coming back into the game, goals from Claudia Law and Marie Quintilla confirmed the three points.

St Neots seconds finished bottom and therefore leave the division in the other direction.

The thirds also finished in the bottom two of their league despite a 1-0 win over Cambridge South V, Hayley Doyle with the goal.

The St Neots women’s fourths completed an excellent season as the club’s development side with a 1-1 draw against Long Sutton II thanks to a Lizzie Bertram goal.

The St Neots men’s firsts rounded off an impressive season finishing third with a 4-2 away victory over City of Peterborough IV.

Goals from Bradley Forsdick and Phil McMorris gave Saints a two goal lead going into the break.

In the second half, the hosts came back within a goal, but Matt Emery scored Saints’ third.

Despite City scoring again, Forsdick doubled his tally to wrap up the win.

The men’s seconds missed out on promotion by two points but finished the campaign with a 3-0 win over City of Peterborough VI.

James Findlay made a hat-trick of assists, setting up goals firstly for Paul Ray and twice for Andrew Pope.

The men’s thirds drop out of the division after a 3-0 loss away to Cambridge South V.

There was no game for the mens’ fourths, but they had already secured a top three finish of their own.
