Mediaweek celebrates the rising stars of the UK media industry in 2017

Women dominate Campaign’s Media Week 30 Under 30 2017, in partnershi­p with Shortlist Media. Nineteen women and 11 men from brands, agencies and media-owners were selected as our rising stars of the UK media industry.

It was the second year in a row in which more women than men impressed the judges, after 20 women and 10 men were picked in 2016.

More than 100 people applied – the youngest of them aged 19 – and

Campaign wants to thank them all, because the standard of entries, which required every candidate to make a three-minute video, was extremely high.

We hope that some of those who missed out this year will try again in the future.

We still worry about the relatively low representa­tion of people from black, Asian and other ethnic minority background­s, although there was an improvemen­t on a year ago.
