Boys’ Brigade band tunes up at display
DRUMMERS and buglers belted out some notes at the 1st Campbeltown Boys’ Brigade’s annual display.
The band, guided by Gordon Evans MBE, was making its first public appearance during the event on Friday June 3 in Lorne and Lowland church hall.
The boys presented various other items including games, singing and mime.
A brigade spokesperson said: ‘We are very greatful to Ms Catriona Hood, the Grammar School head, who presented the boys with their awards.
The awards were as follows:
World War One commemoration badges plus Queen’s 90th birthday commemoration badge: Charl Lavery, Ryan Johnston, Jim Ewart, Finn McCallum, Charlie Colville, Arran Brown, Frank Stacey, Ben Cunningham, Alexander Semple, Aiden Carey, Evan Cook, Lewis Russel, Kenzie White, Josh McLellan, Aiden Cunningham, Kyle Paterson, Oliver Reid, Drew Cunningham, Callum Ellis, Scott Graham, Ross Gorman.
Best Anchor group: Group one: Charl Lavery, Ryan Johnston, Jim Ewart, Finn McCallum, Charlie Colville and Arran Brown.
Best Junior group: U Tube: Scott Graham, Ross Gorman and James Reid.
Perfect attendance: Frank Stacey, Alexander Semple, Aiden Carey, Lewis Russel and Ross Gorman.
Up to two absences: Josh McLellan, Ryan Johnston, Aiden Cunningham, Charl Lavery and James Reid. Battalion Bible art competition: 1 Callum Ellis and 2 James Reid. Commendation awards: Josh McLellan, Kyle Paterson, Aiden Cunningham, Aiden Carey and Charl Lavery.
Promotion from Anchor Section to Junior Section: Ben Cunningham, Josh McLel- lan, Aiden Cunningham, Jim Ewart and Finn McCallum.
Promotion from the Junior section to the company section: Kyle Paterson, Scott Graham, Drew Cunningham, Callum Ellis and James Reid.

The company is starting a company section 2016 in September. Any boys aged 11 to 16 are warmly invited to join.
