Tarbert Seafood Festival 2016

-

‘The festival is all about the culinary delights that can be created with local produce from the waters of Loch Fyne.’

ONE of Tarbert Seafood Festival 2016’s most highly anticipated events will be when a village girl joins the royalty.

This year’s Seafood Festival Queen Laura McCaffery and her princessess Iona McArthur and Brooke Prentice will be brought across Tarbert Harbour by boat and piped along the main street before the crowning ceremony at 1pm on July 2.

Entertainment from TJ Mac will be followed by Councillor Anne Horn officially declaring the Seafood Festival open.

The annual festival, held this year on July 2 and 3, is a great family weekend out and a highlight of Argyll’s festival season. The event draws visitors from around the world. Stalls line the harbour showcasing quality local seafood, with taster sessions and cookery demonstrations taking place throughout the weekend. And with music, dance, entertainment and children's activities running throughout the weekend, Tarbert Seafood Festival 2016 is sure to be two days of marvellous food, drink and craic.

The festival is all about the culinary delights that can be created with local produce from the waters of Loch Fyne.

Organisers are proud to announce local seafood producers who are donating food for the event this year, including Gigha Halibut, Loch Fyne Langoustines, Prentice Seafoods, A&D Johnson, and Gordon Goldsworthy of Loch Fyne Seafarms Ltd.
