Day with the Angels
This is a practical, highly-interactive workshop with Investing Women. Meet, talk and enjoy a light lunch with business angels, get tips on what makes businesses attractive to investors, the process involved and what to prepare. This is a flexible session where the panel discusses your business and business model, how the company can be scaled and other financing options which may be worth exploring. There will
be opportunities to ask questions, meet other entrepreneurs and get help with pitching. Following on from this session, there will be the opportunity to practise your pitch, pitching to an experienced business angel who will help you understand what a business angel wants to hear, analyse the pitch and give brief coaching to help optimise chances of investment. There will also be short 1-2-1s with one of the angels.
Crowdfunding
Derek’s presentation will provide an insight into the various forms of crowdfunding that are available to businesses. He will provide advice and tips on how to run a successful crowdfunding campaign, and highlight some of the pitfalls. Businesses attending will be able to find out if their business would be suitable for raising funding through Growth deck. Derek Bond, founder of the first Scottish equity crowdfunding platform Square knot, has advised companies across all sectors on the use of crowdfunding to raise seed or growth capital. Square knot merged with Growth deck earlier this year.
