Vandalism

POLICE officers in Campbeltow­n report two separate incidents of vandalism – and in one case someone has been charged.

The first happened on Tuesday last week, February 28, when a window was smashed at Castlehill Primary School, Ralston Road. Subsequent­ly a boy aged 16 was charged with the offence and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Later, overnight Friday March 3 and Saturday March 4, between 7pm and 7.50am a window at the Blacksmith’s Shop, Longrow, Campbeltow­n, was smashed. No entry was gained and nothing was stolen. Police are investigat­ing the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any informatio­n to contact them.

Careless driving

ABOUT 8.40am on Monday February 27, on the A83 about four miles south of Tarbert, a blue Honda Civic motor car was allegedly being driven in a careless manner. Subsequent­ly, the driver, a man aged 53, was traced and charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

No MOT

A CAR was stopped by police on the A83 at Inverneill on Monday February 27 and checks revealed that the vehicle allegedly had an expired MOT. The driver, a 33-yearold man, was charged and issued with a £100 fixed penalty.
