Charities benefit from national fund

A NATIONAL building society with a Campbeltown branch has cemented a pledge made in 1999.

Yorkshire Building Society, based in Longrow, has reached a milestone of giving away £7 million in donations with £2,850 of that going to Campbeltown charities including Campbeltown Sea Rescue, Autism Argyll and the Kintyre Youth Café.

Campbell Read, proprietor of the Campbeltown agency, said: ‘We’re delighted to be able to celebrate the Charitable Foundation reaching its £7million donation milestone.’
