A wheely good idea

SINCE Bradley Wiggins’s 2012 victory in the Tour de France and Olympic triumphs the same year, cycling has been on a roll.

Combined with the push for healthy lifestyles, many have rediscovered the joy and sense of freedom to be found on two wheels.

Runner Robbie Semple is a recent convert to life on a saddle and had never ridden a bike off road until he entered the Kintyre Ultra. Bitten by the bug, he is now leading the peloton to set up a Kintyre cycling club. Let’s hope he racks up a few like-minded souls.
