Kintyre Care Home’s great open day get-together
A WARM welcome met all friends and family who popped into Kintyre Care Home for a fun-filled open day last week.
The HC-One-run home joined in with the Eden Project’s Big Lunch movement, which encourages as many people as pos- sible across the UK to share lunch with their neighbours.
This year the care home, which is celebrating its 20th birthday, had an open day theme of friendship, so residents celebrated theirs with a barbecue, refreshments, fun activities and games, music and entertainment, and various stalls, inviting everyone to join them.
When the Courier popped in, the residents were being entertained by Alex MacKinnon with his accordion, while the smell of sausages was hard to resist.
