Nominate an unsung star

THE STARTING gun has been fired to find Argyll and Bute’s true sporting heroes. The council is inviting nominations for the Argyll and Bute Sports Awards 2017, which aim to celebrate and reward the success and achievements of athletes, coaches and volunteers.

Nominations for the awards’ seven categories, which are run in partnership with Sportscotland, are open at www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/ sportsawards until Friday August 25.

Winners will be announced on Friday September 8 and awards will be given to winners at their own clubs.
