Pupils’ pre-season friendly fixtures

-

CAMPBELTOWN Pupils AFC have an extensive pre-season programme lined up before beginning an assault on the highly competitive SAFL Premier Division One, a season that will determine if they can bounce back and regain a place in the Scottish league’s elite top ten.

The McFadyen-sponsored Pupils start with a home friendly fixture against Blantyre SA, which will be played at Kintyre Park, tomorrow (Saturday), kicking off at 2pm.

The game will give a number of young players the opportunity to find their feet in amateur football for the first time, and prove they can eventually gain a place in the senior squad.

Due to major work taking place in the adjacent car park, no vehicle space is available at Kintyre Park. For those who wish to attend the match, please arrive early to find parking on the surrounding streets, and please avoid parking on Limecraigs Road, as a special pedestrian entrance has been made available until construction of the car park is complete.

A more mature squad will then travel to take on Highland League side Fort William, next Saturday July 15, before another home fixture against the high-flying Southside AFC, Scottish and West Cup finalists, on Saturday July 22.

The final match for July will see the squad travel to Rhu Amateurs for the hosts’ annual tournament.
