Departing Ballycastle at 9.30am, visitors have the opportunity to spend four hours in Islay with a tour, tasting and lunch at Ardbeg Distillery. We boarded the Kintyre Express, a slick craft almost like the interior of an aircraft. Before we knew it we were speeding along the water. Before long we were in Ballycastle. It was quick, easy and with the minimum of fuss. This is without doubt and quite literally the only way to travel to Ballycastle! Candy coloured shops, houses, restaurants, pubs, galleries and houses stack up along the streets. It's amazing to think that we are so close yet so far! Ballycastle is a small town in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The town is located on the north-easternmost coastal tip of the island of Ireland at the northern mainland limit of the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Rathlin Island and The Mull of Kintyre can be seen from the coastline. The Ballycastle Tourist Visitor Centre Tel: 028 2076 2024 is conveniently located on the harbour. From here you can get all the information you need in planning for a fantastic trip. There is so many things to do. Water top Farm, Ballycastle Beach, Rathlin Island, The Giant's Causeway, Bushmills, Golfing and numerous places to eat and sample a fine pint of Guinness and some Irish hospitality! This area is of course one of the filming locations for "Game of Thrones".
