Islay lamb and sheep sale

INCREASED entry of lambs saw 3,282 lambs and sheep sold at United Auctions’ first sale at Bridgend Auction Mart, Islay.

A good entry of quality lambs were on offer to a large turnout of mainland buyers.

In keeping with national trends, heavier, fleshy lambs weighing 42 plus kilos increased in values on the year whilst store types showed a slight decrease on the year.

Lambs averaged £57.45 per head or 162.1 pence per kilo.
