Rotary error

- Agnes Stewart, Rotary Club of Campbeltown.

The Rotary Club of Campbeltown’s Agnes Stewart sent a letter in error recently which was from an earlier Sale of the Century.

Here is the letter in relation to the most recent event:

Sir,

As a supplement to the article and photographs printed in the Courier of October 6, the Rotary Club of Campbeltown would like to thank several non-Rotarians who helped at that sale.

Mention was already made of the refreshments provided by the Inner Wheel Club and I cannot over-emphasize the importance of this service.

Our friends from Inner Wheel keep up a supply of tea, coffee, soft drinks, filled rolls and biscuits during the Saturday of the auction and this is greatly appreciated, not only by the public, but also by Rotarians on duty.

It also, of course, brings in some revenue for the Inner Wheel Club and enables them to continue helping others.

On the evening of Thursday September 28, the Rotary club was assisted by the following people who helped transport sale items from storage at the Moy into the Victoria Hall: James Martin, Stuart McMillan, Malcolm Ronald and Ian Fawcett.

On Friday September 29, Archie Houston did safety checks on all electrical equipment offered for sale, and Anne Leith typed the catalogue.

On Friday and Saturday, Maureen Mathieson and Ian Ronald helped at the bric-a-brac stall.

On Saturday September 30, John Galbraith did a fair share of the auctioneering and the following people helped with the delivery of goods after the sale: Stephen Chinn, Dillan Cox, Scott Odgers, Jim Farren, Amanda Card, Andy McCaig and Lorraine

McCallum. We are extremely grateful to each and every one of them, and if I have missed anyone from the list, my sincere apologies.
