Vote for Clachan hall renovation

-

Sir,

We are desperately seeking more votes for our Aviva Community Fund bid towards the Clachan Village Hall renovation/rebuild project.

The voting deadline, November 21, is fast approaching and we are competing against many other worthy projects. Many charity funding agencies don’t look favourably on village hall projects and sadly Clachan missed out on the golden era of the Millennium lottery funds.

Clachan Village Hall is the central hub of community activity in Clachan and is used on about 180 days per year.

However, the prefabricated premises built in the 1950s are in need of total renovation and preferably a complete rebuild.

The asbestos concrete corrugated roof is leaking all the more since, with good intention, we put up solar panels to improve energy efficiency.

To date we have raised approximately £20,000 through local funding activity.

This is a real opportunity for us to attract some significant funding and we would very much appreciate all those readers who can support our bid by asking all friends and family to vote for the Clachan project.

All that is required is to put Aviva Community Fund into your web browser and follow the prompts to register to vote.

This entails providing your email address and creating a password and your voting account is activated by clicking on the return email.

Click on projects and type Clachan Village Hall into the project search box and each voter can allocate up to 10 votes to Clachan.

Many thanks to all readers who support our project. Malcolm Ward, Clachan.
