Ayrshire Breeders Club has a successful year

-

KINTYRE and District Ayrshire Breeders Club held its AGM in the Ardshiel Hotel on Friday March 2.

Outgoing chairman,

Malcolm Ronald, gave a resume of the year’s events, which were all well supported, and he thanked everyone for their participation in

all the competitions.

Condolences were expressed to the families of two founder members, Archie Millar and Mary Barr, who had recently passed away.

The treasurer’s report showed healthy bank balances and the only change to office bearers was the appointment of a new chairman, Andrew Ralston, as Malcolm Ronald had completed his twoyear term of office.

Most points

Following the business, the Hamish Smith Premier Breeders Trophy for most points overall was presented to Thos M Ralston & Sons, East Drumlemble.

Current Ayrshire Cattle Society president Philip Williams was unable to address the meeting due to illness, so the club was very grateful to Archie Reid for stepping in at short notice with an interesting account of his farming experiences

at Keprigan. He supported his presentation with numerous

photographs, many of ploughing matches, which are always pertinent

at this time of year! Andrew Ralston proposed

a vote of thanks to all concerned for the success of the meeting.
