Charles and Abigail are Wee Toon darts champions

CAMPBELTOW­N District Darts Associatio­n’s men’s singles was held on Monday and with an entry of 32 players two boards were used in the Burnside and one in the Ailsa Bar during the early rounds with the semi-finals and the final in the Burnside.

And what great matches took place!

The first semi-final was between Charles Robertson and Alan Glen, two players who

have been on top form all season.

It was Charles who progressed to the final after top-class darts from both players.

The second semi-final was between Gavin McLachlan and John MacIntosh and this match was also a joy to watch with both players hitting high scores but it was Gavin who advanced to the final.

The final was highclass, both players consistent­ly hitting the

high scores and finishing quickly but it was Charles who came out on top with a 5-3 win.

During the evening there were some fantastic darts thrown, Jamie McGougan hit scores of 180x2, 177 and 104 finish and had legs of 14 and 15 darts.

Charles Robertson hit five 180s, two 14dart and a 15-dart legs, and 110 finish, Gavin McLachlan had two 180s and a 15-dart leg, John MacIntosh 180,

Kenny Docherty 180 and Alan Glen finishes of 150 and 119.

The ladies’ singles was held in the Ailsa on Thursday February

15 and the winner was Abigail Muir with Mary Ross runner-up.
