The popular restaurant enjoying its prime waterfront location, close to the railway and Station Square for buses and taxis, has also got new owners to boast of – with 25 years’ experience to satisfy the biggest appetite of regular and first-time customers expecting the best food and service. Only the freshest of ingredient­s are used by the chef who has worked in some of Glasgow’s top chinese restaurant­s, owned by his family. Whether it’s seafood brought in daily to Oban’s shores or locally-sourced meats, quality is key in the kitchen. New specials will be introduced every two weeks and be displayed up on a selection board for diners to see as they walk in to the classy establishm­ent, well lit with cut glass lights, open dining areas and wooden booths for those more private or romantic occasions – the booths can be booked in advance. The menu with delicious appetisers from barbecued spare ribs to Isle of Mull scallops has something to offer all the family. Noodles and rice, vegetable dishes that can be cooked in a variety of sauces or styles, house favourite curries including sliced duck, wok fried satays and then a choice of classic cooked dishes such as sirloin steak with chips and gravy means everyone will be happy at the table. There is a special lunch offer running at the moment, 10 per cent off between noon and 2pm, Monday to Saturday. And Yu Wu can even bring its great taste right to your door, offering a fresh and fast delivery service in specially temperatur­e controlled bags, keeping it piping hot. The home delivery hotline on 01631 563338 is available Monday to Thursday from 5pm to 10pm and then Friday to Sunday from 5pm to 11pm. Outside catering for parties and special occasions can also be booked which makes catering for important events problem-free, taking the stress away.
